  1. It is estimated that around 5 million Soviet soldiers were captured by the Axis powers. Of these, approximately 3.3 million Soviet POWs died while in captivity, largely due to factors such as starvation, disease, forced labor, and inadequate medical care. 75,000 to 100,000 Polish POWs also died in German captivity. This panel is grossly ignorant, perhaps willfully so.

  5. I'm the descendent of Lithuanian Jews, and the historian is factually correct. The Germans initially had great success with the Panzer Blitzkrieg into Russia, capturing millions of Russian soldiers. Only a small percentage of those captured ever returned home. CNN host is just ignorant, perhaps willfully so.
