@BlackBoxEnte Precisely. It is a charger..... Not some AI or a new type of technology. Whether it os apple charger or USB C... The difference is mainly in the connective part.... Whilst performance is pretty much the same on all of them. So pretty much it is a monopol on How a charger looks and what shape it has. I mean really... I even had a phone with an unusually large battery (3days on one charge) and it took less time to charge than apple phones of my peers... So when it comes to the chargers it doesn't really matter. It's just emotional attachment.

Doubt they can. Honestly. You don't get a new charger with your phone sometimes and that will become the norm. Which means that chargers are/will be bought only separate. However, they will be universal for everyone and every device. That means, no One company can hold a monopoly over these separate chargers. So really, apple users will be able to buy a cable made by Samsung if they wanted. Making the price also less bothersome. Yet at the same time it means that apple cannot claim that their devices were damaged by incorrect cables from Other manufacturers (not meaning actually bad cables but Not Originally By Apple cables) as their devices ate meant to function for the universal use. Meanwhile the law it's self has checks not to hinder innovation. So apple can either cry and adapt or cry and leave one of the major world economies. (They love the cash way toooo much for that)

@PabloTBrave No they are not. The change means that every new apple product (the law touches on) will now how to be produced with USBC, meanwhile the ones that are in EU will stay with their old chargers. Replacables will still be available like they are. It is just that over time, as USB C apple will flood and replace the Current Apple in EU. Thus, these cables will just gradually be replaced... And not thrown out. And what about the already manufactured cables? Either sold in EU as a replacement during the transition period... Or simply sold somewhere else where apple sells their products.

Lol. It is funny but it makes kind of sense. I mean, USB C is very common among other phone manufacturers and apple has their own specific type. So EU wanting only 1 type is not that strange. Especially since it could be seen as more handy to have 1 type of chargers.
