WTF. Never had it occurred to me that talking about death is a taboo subject that makes people uncomfortable. Like... When corrected I thought it was because it's morbid nad there are genuinely nicer discussions we can have at the given time. My family never had it as a taboo... I mean my large extended family. My dad would talk about death as of any other part of life ... Be it marriages, birth, owning a house. How people died, reasons and the impacts. Be it historic or familiar. They generally always had a Memento Mori background mindset and I do too. Heck... I have good and possible memories of conversation about death... Good death is a thing. Dying in admirable age, dying in sleep is what was described as desired death. A wish of end of life.. at the end.. Heck I even heard a positive story of a man that suicided. They described him, nana would not unpraise his attitudes and manners, his kindness and so on, amiting the signs of struggle internally. Whilst also honouring his letter and the way he cleaned the house, prepared all things for the funeral and his clothes before suiciding as to make it easier to those who loved him.
