In Europe, the people gave up some of their "freedom" such as the things in regards of healthcare (choosing prices, companies ext) in exchange for gaining freedom of mind. Perhaps it sounds weird but that's how it is. Once you are at the top you can transfer power to different groups just do you get more time and energy on what you want to do. It is just teamwork on a larger scale.

Yea Vhinese manufacturing improved their economic situation... but the people there no longer ant to do it their whole life, for small pay, for long hours. You can see that natural trend of people moving towards services.

It seems that US has such a large Military force that it is starting to crumble under it. Costs are through the roof whilst many are frustrated that the money is;t used for the wellbeing of citizens... at the same time the Politicians got so used to it that they just say "deeply military" as the norm and simple answer to any conflict they face... I do say that as a European and you may be surprised that I agree with Trump about Nato or at the very best contribution/foreign help (I hate his tact persona tho...) although his expectations sometimes are far too realistic for the smaller nations and even for a successful one like Germany as the US military is through the roof to compare to (Not to mention Germany can't have a large military by international law if I remember correctly)

The Amount of Diplomacy and cultural cooperation it takes to make a Nation-State has not yet been achieved. Both US and European Union were on the paths but the US, in its early history, had fairly similar cultures across states whilst the states had similar problems and enemies (Briain) thus more easily just forming a nation out of united states (Just like Germany or even Russia). EU, on the other hand, tried this, kind of unintentionally by many, after extreme national differences but those remained and no one cared enough to solve and work on that so it won't become a thing. I could however imagine some sort of Nation-state between the US and Canada or even Mexico ... if the US and to some extend Canada wanted to.
