  64. UK: correcting school time from 9 am to 10 am. My home country: 8 am. to be fair i didn't really mind it because when being little from first grade (age 6-7) up to sixth grade but I see why later it would be a bother. I moved to Englad after 6th grade and starting at 9 seemed lazy to me whilst most people classmates seemed to know less about maths, history , geography and sciences .... perhaps because they didn't have a full humanities and sciences split yet. :D this helped me learn English incredibly fast.... I knew the science knowledge what they were learning already and I saw the pictures but i didn't know the words. God bless that one Science teacher, She saw that I knew what was going on just couldn't express it so she gave me time to think about the words and even wrote a table of words for me. ... overall it wasn't that bad but there are things I would change, like gcses ... why do most schools spend 2 years leaning towards them and not just have their content woven into the full education? I mean... in year 8 we didn't have history nor geography we had humanities.... who in the world thought that is a good idea. It was dry and content less subject which could have been spend better by teaching pupils how to read maps, learning about countries and cultures and how languages and cultures spread. There you go.... a mix go geography and history which would later help both subjects. Instead we were not learning but playing with making house models of our dream houses whilst map reading was taught last during gcses and many people struggled (I found that incredibly odd as it essentially is just following a lines from top and sides and using a key) and where what lies was expected but again most people weren't sure half the time. ... that subject was an absolute abomination and I do hope it was just a school exception. :D Thank God I liked geography and history whilst having it since grade 3. It is a bit sad that history was so lacking in content since GCSE history covers medicine and wars but not culture and change. It was funny but sad when my Architecture Lecturer asked "Has anyone ever heard of Mesopotamia?" and only me, a girl from Germany, a girl from Roumania, A guy from Honk-Kong raised their hands but no Brit did. It was a lecture hall with extreme Brit majority. Sadly, the lecturer just said "Thought so". Other subject that didn't work was French. I mean, 2 hours of French a week is nowhere enough for a language subject and lets end it there. On the other hand, I really liked the Product design lessons as they was completely new and practical. It was a welcomed hands-in learning and relaxation whilst having the joy of making something some solid than a card. :D I really liked when we could laser print and metal cast. Also art, ohhh yes. Art was pretty much a free and forgotten lesson where I was from. No one ever takes it seriously unless you go to a specialised school. Having an actual, consistent coursework was a huge boost to development they helped me see the change i my work over time and even helped me peruse my dream career of an Architect.
