  1. "ancient" Please learn when to use the term. No ancient artefacts have been damaged, or even used in protests. They used Renaissance ones. That's 1600 years difference.... And they did not get damaged nor destroyed either.

  2. They don't need to. We are on a well secured track to go past 1.5 degrees heating. Once it reaches 2 degrees centigrade, the temperature will trigger systemsl loops which will result to heating up to 5°C over all. (Processes such as permafrost melting, forest and rainforest fires, rainforests not producing humidity, sea water no having the capacity to absorb heat and so on). That's why the 2 degree bench mark is Sooo mentioned. Because getting 2C will lead to 5C and that cannot be stopped by human measures because there is no technology nor possible lifestyle to reverse these systems.

  3. Probably because that's deals between companies and the governments of said African nations, where these things are not visible day to day (once can see climate change out of their window). Where the EU is one of the largest donors of aid and actually regulates the companies... Because said companies you mention are more often than not not European actually....
