As a Northern Slovakians i was always leaning towards Czech culture more.... The modern kind (😂 as East k now's, we love our folklores) Why? Because they write more free. Whilst it doesn't or didn't quite affect shopping. It affects the ideas around you and Czechs wrote always far more freedom minded from what i have met. Not that they don't get problems of their own but Still... As for Russia. I used to be anti Russian, more from tradition than reason. Now i agree with some, disagree with most. I still see US, Russia and China as the biggest threats there are. Us is seemingly crumbling under their own political games. China... Whilst being one of the largest bullies announced it won't stand being bullied anymore meanwhile they just enforcing military state in HongKong and God help us all if they qere preparing to "unify" With Taiwan (basically Democratic Chinese government in exile) again. And Russsia... Well for the most part keeping its self cool and aomewhat low ans less flashy. Quietly under the mists tries to secure waters in arctic plus the tensions with their European border neighbours. You see If Russia wasn't as Homophobic, racist, sexist and more concerned about the well-being of its citizens and nature i would probation be pro Russia without any problem. And whilst i believe racism, sexism and homophobia have went down power time. No one can deny it is Still quite strong.

It's always weird. I mean it will never happen. As a Slovak i would hate the unity with Hungary whilst I welcome cooperation or unity within larger organisations such as the V4 or EU. Although i do believe there are Hungarian Unionists that are young and absolutely idiotic on this issue as they simply clam the land. Why do i thought this? When visiting a Slovak/Hungarian bridge border nar Nové Zámky (New Castle) there was quite a handful of Hungarian unionists stickers on the bridge... So there are younger people into it, not that they will even bee heard. As for the comments in regards to Hungarian Minority moving back to Hungary today or Slovaks minority during the 1000 year long occupation by Hungary... The slovaks were the natives. So really you just end up with the Native Rights issues. Every border regions of Europe are a mix which Always cases some issue at the back for some reasons. I think the hungarians should just be assimilated into Slovakia, mainly through education. Eg. Slovak language 1st in school, Hungarian as optional second or third language... If the parent's can't manage to learn their kids the language at home. As for food and other parts of culture... That's such a blend we should just leave it. Even events, why bot have them in the border regions.

As an Eastern European I would happily see more liberalism in the East, at least to the level of Czechs. As for V4... It doesn't seem to do much besides their megaproject which they can't even fund them selves.

True, as a Slovak I always looked at the Czech traditions as a very Austrian in influence. Still very familiar and similar to. Us Slovaks, but different. But hey... There is a Historical reason... In Austria-Hungary, Slovaks were under Hungarians, Czechs were under Austrian.

😂 I mean, some of the lost territories were just lost territory of other nations Eg the Slovak and Czech part, both were there before Hungarians were, then lost their territory, then gained it again.

@freebozkurt9277 As a slovak I agree. Even today we have Imperator (emperor) Cisár (unknown by origin to me, but explains the Kaiser stuff as it appears more german oriented in folk takes) Tsar (Russia) Kral (King) Although Cisar and Imperator were used appmeqhat interchangeably as, lets face it Kaiser was alway just a germanic there ng that died out and was forgotten put pf spite whilst Tsar remained because of the tragic assassination of the family as a memorandum. But to put it all together. Austria-Hungary was just a big mess. Austrie controlled Czechs, Hungary did Slovaks besides Balkans later and other ethnicities. Just a ticking bomb since the lead did not seem to care enough for their minorities.

What are "family values". That just is far too easy to interpret however one wants...

From the North of Poland Down to the Balkans it is also all Slavs os it makes sense we would have more in common than with Hungarians.

I wish they were both more liberal. No need for destruction tho... Hungary's new law is a joke because of how open to interpretation it is. But i don't think even libatal poland wouldn't be able to do lich ahowrt term wise If pola d went liberal, Slovakia would within few years. Slovaks have been gradually more and more liberal anyways due to Czechs. But really it the 3 slavs were to agree o something, the one Magyar would be outvoted that is for sure.
