I'll add. You said 2 great wars came out of Nation States. Not true. WW2 had barely any nation states and it was empires. Also, I would urge you to consider the difference in what a Nation State meant for the West and what for the East of Europe. West had empires, empires turned to Nation states ... But still empires. For them it was a reformation to keep themselves as they are. Hence Portuguese and French even made their colonies the integral parts of the core. So did Russia with it's federalisation. The east had no states.. empires fell and Nation States were established. It was a protective measure which ensures the population of the new Nations would not be a minority and would no longer be ethno-linguistically supressed.

Bit ironic and says that you don't know much about Nationalism. The only thing you seem to know about it is the Nationalism of Western Post colonial powers. The fact of the matter is that Nationalism is basically what this video said.. a break off from Empires. Eh in the east of Europe it meant the abolishment of Imperial Rule, secession from the empire, gain of Sovereignty and freedom to be the ethnicity you are and language you speak. Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia and many more gained freedom from Hungarian and Austrian central Rule which suppressed them. Poland gained independence from Russia and Germany. Ukraine emerged out of Russia. empire for the first times as a described and sovereign state, be it brief back then.... And it battles for sovereignty to this day. The exact opposite of what you think Nationalism Is.

@haniamritdas4725 I wasn't described anything "earlier".... I was describing a difference between Wester and Eastern European nationalism which emerged in was around in 1945 and is around Today. It's literally an ongoing thing... Not historic... Russian Imperialist nationalism which expands outwards... akin to western imperialists nationalism Vs Ukrainian Nationalism which tries to preserve a Nation State.... Akin to nationalism in Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia, as well as Finland and the Baltics. You just don't have a clue about anyone outside your front door.

@haniamritdas4725 it does make a difference as litteraly there would be no Ukrainians fighting for Ukrainians if they did not have the National Spirit to support their Nation State. Be there no national university then Zelenski would have fled and would not have staid. The entire appeal of Ukraine and support of Ukraine (with admiration for determination) is a support of Ukrainian Nationalism. It's known that US would not have supported Ukraine if Zelenski had fled and if they did not have such national support in the first place. What you are arguing is "Political Realism"... Which has been proven to be flawed and unrealistic political philosophy which ignored any and all internal developments within nations and philosophy which is incapable of the subject of a Nation State. Look. .. US also has republicans which have nothing anto do with Republicanism today yet they still call themselves Republicans.
