  1. The first transistor was patented by Lilleanthal in 1927. The technology (purity of materials) to make it was not available for about 20 years. It was a FET. The basis of today's computer technology.

  3. You left out Polywell Fusion. So far no show stoppers. A full up test reactor could give us a yes/no answer in about 5 years. No money is going into that project. Pity.
