  1. Verification is very important. It is why you build prototypes. Only idiots go from design to production. And the usual reason is - "it will save time and money". I have never seen a case where it does. Ever.

  2. Autorouting never worked for me. I have had professionals tell me autorouting is never as good as manual. And the manual completes when the auto route doesn't. Plus with manual you can deoptimize the slow stuff (more vias) to make the fast stuff work better.

  3. I did a stint as a test equipment designer in aerospace. I loved it. The scheduled time for a project was never adhered to because the other design work had used it up. "We can make it up in test eqpt." must have been a mantra. Or a face saver. I loved beating their most optimistic goals. Which I mostly did. Fun. Fun. Fun.
