An oversupply is quite common at the end of every semiconductor business cycle. For at least 50+ years. An era of new designs starts because chips are cheap and available. An oversupply of the LPC1115 hasn't shown up yet. One of my favorites.

The '405 is a favorite of mine.

We have been having semiconductor cycles for 50+ years. This is not unusual.

It doesn't take long. Production is high - doesn't quite meet demand. Then demand drops and production remains high.

@Bronkzyny It also encourages new designs. Which increase demand.

The chip market has been going through extreme cycles for 50+ years. BTW if there is a demand chip companies will endeavor to keep up. I think we will find out after 10 or 20 years that renewables can't be relied on. Germany is now learning this. Then it will be nukes all the way. French nukes for the Germans currently. Water vapor is the #1 GHG.
