  1. We used to have Due Process where accusation of a crime wasn't enough. Once upon a time a trial and conviction were required. This simplifies things considerably for totalitarians. Accusations are now enough to take action.

  4.  @uncleogrimacy  But you didn't answer my question. So I'll try another. Can he be tried in a State Court for a Federal Crime? Which is what Colorado claims to be doing. You think the Supremes will allow that? 9-0 against Colorado et. al. is likely the outcome. And since it is a Federal Crime it requires a criminal trial. A civil trial will not do.

  5.  @cliff5043  So far - nothing. And the visuals scream "witch hunt". Which is why even (a very unlikely) conviction won't matter. No one in the last ten years has even been indicted for insurrection. So if you expect a trial on that - it may be a while.
