  1. Motors used in cars are currently in the 90% to 95% efficiency range. Getting a 37% motor up to that level is going to be very difficult. BTW the experiments should be done in CAD. The materials are well enough understood to make that the most useful option. At least until efficiency is improved to the 80% range - if that is even possible.

  2. AC motors don't use magnets - generally. They use electromagnets.
