Which means doubling the capital costs.

Intermittent and unreliable is no way to go through life. And we might get an electric supply that can go for days or weeks with insufficient input. Or pay a lot for batteries. Have you done the math? It doesn't add up with current technology. And suppose we find the planet needs the wind more than we do? Or that only rooftop solar makes ecological sense. Then what?

And storage. And metals.

Even the theory says water vapor is an equally effective gas. There is on average 50 times as much water vapor in the atmosphere as CO2. So not enough CO2. Too much water vapor. The theory is absurd. based on its own criteria.

And backup generators.

Beyond 10% you get instability problems without storage.

One small problem it takes $3 bn to $4 bn of wind generators to equal $1 bn of nuke. And with the wind you also get intermittent and unreliable. Intermittent is helped some by batteries. Unreliable is handled by backup generators.

Transmission is not the biggest current problem. Storage is. Dispatchability is.

When you eliminate the need for capital all that is required is wishes. The capitalists are too into robbing people to allow that. So. No wishes allowed.
