That's the whole point of let's go Brandon its like it's gone completely over your head, it's a way to verbally protest in an untouchable way because it plays by the insane rules at hand. Due to the chaos and lack of information currently available due to infrastructure failures, my take is those who initially got to him at genuinely trying to get him home, but because they believe he may be someone important and don't want to draw on the US. There's a distinct fear for his safety around the public At large. He's a target. They know it. Whoever has the power to try get on America's good side is the one scrambling to try get him out and get a free ticket for themselves.
