  1. I think placing the capital city on shores of Lake Texcoco was an excellent idea at the time. The fertile soil provided excellent base for agriculture whilst the higher attitude provided more bearable weather in a hot semi-desert country. The problem is that the city grew too rapidly into colossal proportions and the locality is not suitable to support such a huge city.
