TechTusiast That's true, but Finland also has some aces in their sleeve. The swampy and boggy terrain in eastern Finland and by the Russian border is virtually unpenetrable by heavy tank and artillery divisions. Finland has some pretty good civil defence as well. For example all bridges are required by law to have a detonation chamber for easy destruction for preventing the invading army's advance.

In principle I agree. Real journalists would ask more unpleasant questions. But exactly same things could be said by our "professional" Western journalists when they are interviewing Western leaders. I can never hear questions on topics public is interested in - illegal migration, European energy security, safety of mRNA vaccines, allegiance of our politicians, sustainability of our financial system and debt, financing of NGOs, foreign interference in European affairs, influence off WEF in European affairs, etc.

Battle for Bahmut is a political battle. Putin desperately needs some victory for propaganda easons and the Ukrainians want to deny it to him. And of course it's a war of attrition, where the Russians are losing.

Russia is not able to come up quickly with high tech solutions, eg. artificial intelligence to distinguish the Drones from the sea clutter, overhead patrol drones or aircraft. But I believe that ships in ports can be protected by low tech solutions, physical barriers, like fishing nets on floats to prevent the drones to hit the worship directly. I think improvised barrier using old oil drums, rope, anchors and fencing wire would do the job. Working in conjunction with machine gunners and rapid deployment crew on speed boats / jet skis to deal with saturation attack by several drones. Another way of defence are jammers of GPS and other signals the drones rely on.

Valid point. Putin was playing a gamble, it went wrong and now it's spinning out of his hands. He is aware that he broke the social contract. Russian people would forgive him and the oligarchs their cronyism, stealing, bad economic situation and sanctions. But they expect him to maintain some level of order. They aren't going to forgive him when thousands of men will be returning home in black bags as cargo 200. And they won't be happy with mobilisations. Putin knows that this is the only thing that can really threaten his position. That's why Russian army is so keen in conscripting in ethnic areas, conscripts from Donbas (officially Ukrainians) and private contractors. Hardly anybody will be missing these soldiers in Russia. Russian army is too big and incompetent to deliver any results. That's where more flexible private contractors come into place. But using them is like double-edged sword. They can solve the problem with lack of soldiers but they can also overgrow into new power structure and threaten Putin or the integrity of the entire Russian Federation.

@martstam2016 I think the same, Ukraine is sometimes wasting the resources too much. I have seen a video where they used expensive Himars rocket to kill just 6 Russian soldiers. Or they used expensive Patriot missiles to down cheap Iranian drones. It takes a lot of time and money to produce these advanced rockets, so their supply is not endless and they should be only used for high military value targets.

There is no way Russia can win this conflict in conventional non nuclear war. They had workable plan to occupy the whole of Ukraine through quick acquisition of the Hostomel airport. But the execution was so terrible it ended in total failure. So did their other plans. Thankfully for the Ukrainians. 👍 Russia is a paper tiger, it's only a shadow of the former Soviet military might.

Cannot judge the result of the war based on a result of one battle.

Russian state: pumping huge money in the economy and creating inflation. FED, ECB, Bank of England: Hold my beer.

"Rules of War are a joke". Show me one country that follows them.

Yes, absolutely. Putin has failed with his war and FSB and the oligarchs aren't happy with him. It's FSB who's in charge now. There is no way Prigozhin would do his "March for justice" without FSB knowledge or personal security guarantees.
1
Exactly! Russia and China are "frenemies". They only work together against West / US. But otherwise China would be more than happy to annexe part of Russia.
1
Russia and China are "frenemies". They only work together only in opposition to the West. China would love to annex parts of Siberia and Russia knows it. There is definitely not "friendship without limits".

I think Prigozhin is far too intelligent and knowledgeable of power structure in Russia to do a failed coup. I think his time hasn't come yet. He is either preparing ground for the next presidential election or is playing some kind of game together with the FSB. By challenging Putin he is promoting himself as a strong man in the eyes of Russians, which he will capitalise on later. I think we are underestimating the power FSB and oligarchs in Russia. None of them are happy with Putin and the way the war goes and with all the sanctions on Russia. They all want to go back to business as usual, including Prigozhin himself, who has a lucrative business in Africa and doesn't want to waste resources and men in Ukraine. But new President cannot come from a coup, not even in Russia. There has to be some level of legitimacy.

Definitely not false flag attack.

What about floats and nets around the ships? Mine sweepers? These drones are essentially actively moving marine mines.

Putin must have learned from Biden 👍🤣🙈

That's absolutely unrealistic. 1. Ukraine had less than 40M people before the war 2. Number of able men will certainly be much lower than 10M (1/4 of the population) 3. Ukraine needs men to run the economy and critical infrastructure, not every able man can be drafted, not even anything close to it 4. Soldiers need to be trained, quality is not the same as quantity
