To be brutally honest, 80 years later it is kind of irrelevant how it's handled now. Another 10-20 years there will be no one left alive who were hurt from those atrocities, and no one left alive who would want to hide those atrocities. Unless someone is a collectivist and believe in collective social guilt for an entire people. Whether such atrocities are discussed or not end up becoming irrelevant for the vast majority of people in society as whole. It ends up becoming no less real than a story they reading in a book or in a movie. They didn't witness it or experienced it and in turn are disconnected from it. In the end it falls into the category of 'social' credit where people only know about it, and only act in a specific way toward it for 'social' reasons, not any reason whatsoever when it comes to justice or right/wrong. You act toward it in a way you think you're expected to act/believe, and thats about it, then you go about drinking your cup of coffee.
