Those gaps in the lines reminds me of when i was reading It Never Snows in September and German soldiers were describing retreating through already occupied towns and stealing Allied food/equipment as they marched through at night. In the first Chapter. Reminds you how chaotic a fluid mobile war can be, with no established lines.

@TheImperatorKnight By the way, I started reading that book only because you suggested it. I didn't know of it until only a few months ago. Sadly, I've only gone a few chapters into it as of now. I wouldn't be surprised if it is the reason there is a quote from Company of Heroes Opposing Fronts in which one of the Germans states "A September Snow is upon us." With the other stating "On such a warm day no less."

@TheImperatorKnight Ya but for political reasons it was watered down a lot. SS did not even exist in the game despite making up most of the kampf groups in life. Being the German campaign in the game was to thwart Operation Market Garden. Sadly their sequel game COH2 well took too much from stereotypes of the eastern front but the did an amazing job on the maps authenticity just not the story telling and characters which leads me to believe they used alot of bias but likely recommended sources.

@Raskolnikov70 If I recall Eisenhower would intentionally slow advances if not halt them just because if that reason. He wanted solid advances and did not like to bypass German forces.
