  1. If I recall didn't the British break their agreement with the Zionist and threw the Balfour Declaration in the trash? They only allowed Jews to immigration to Palestine to create social division within the region, just like they tried it just about every region they colonized/ruled. Once the balance of power shifted the British heavily restricted the number of Jews who could immigration to the country, and it didn't pick up again until after WWII when internationally they were being shunned for not letting more Jews immigrate prior to the war, in many respects some even accusing the UK of being partly responsible for all those who died by the Nazis for not letting them flee before it was too late. etc etc.
