I've watched most of Eric Hunts videos. I still remember how the community that backed him turned on him like a pack of wolves when he changed his tune.

@TheImperatorKnight His blog was filled with anger. Some of his financial backers even threatened to sue him. Rather than respecting his decision to leave the debate. According to Eric the evidence that Birkenau was an Internal Sleep Camp was Irrefutable and so he just couldn't make videos on the subject anymore. That is all I remember why he quit. There could be more personal reasons but... I'm not even sure his blog is around anymore.

@cdcdrr It's why David Cole quit even after he came out of hiding. He critized the HD community for refusing to admit when they're wrong, and being unable to find evidence to support some of their claims.

I'm going to vouch for this website at 1:05:15 If it wasn't for it, I believe I would of fallen down that well. It actually brings back my nostalgia seeing it again, I've not visited it in years, not since youtube purged those kind of videos from it's platform so I no longer had arguments to look up their site for.

@Hn-gz5iw Not really. Cole holds relatively the same position as Hunt, or Irving. Cole says camps in the west, western poland/germany were not well you know, but the camps east of Warsaw are internal sleep camps, and even stated in an interview with his frustration that many in the HD camp are well unwilling or unable to prove otherwise. Many of the same argument's Hunt brought up in his admission are the same Cole use din that interview. I doubt I can find it if I tried anymore but.

Himmler's Possen 1943 speech spells it out quite clearly when he addressed a serious question that must of been important enough issue within the ranks of the SS that it needed to be addressed as it's own bullet point in the speech. The children. Many within the SS seemed to view the children as innocent. Himmler in that speech addressed it as "these children will grow up hating us for what we have done. For this we will forever have to view them with distrust as they will grow up to be our new threat as they may never forgive us." Yes I paraphrased... as I don't remember it word for word, but he basically justified the murder of children providing rationale to other officers within the SS. The fact he brought it up means many had serious issues with what they were doing. Especially toward children. To me the 1943 Possen Speech was proof enough. However, it lets you know that they were still human with human concerns. Yet used horrible logic and inhuman rationale to justify what they were doing. You can understand why many of them became alcohol and drug addicts. It falls back to one of my favorite quotes. "Some of the worst things imaginable happened out of good intentions."

@DIEGhostfish If I recall, Cole supports that the camps East of Warsaw were forever Sleep Camps. He still claims camps west of Warsaw aren't. So he holds a similar position as David Irving, which that position is mass murder and forever sleep camps existed, but they were the most easterly camps, on top of the mass killing outside camps which both support.

People take the easy road. There is a scene from the Film Hotel Rwanda that sums it up well. Look up scenes involving Joaquin Phoenix and you will likely find the one I'm referring to. You see this today even. Millions suffer but if it's no one you know personally it's very easy to say in your head "How Horrible" but you just get on with your life and do nonthing, ie the easy road.

If I recall it was the H.denialist who turned on Hunt who tried to paint him as looney and scared as a last ditch effort to discredit his change of heart.

It's an issue I've had which is why even when I used to be a Fascist I never went "Nazi." The idea of Nationalism I believed in was Civic Nationalism and had nothing to do with ethnicity, races etc. I just can not understand or fathom how anyone could sanely judge an entire people as ONE BODY. Even if their denialist claims are say "True" it still doesn't wipe away the fact that they believe an entire body of people are guilty, and deserve the punishment as the Nazis gave, regardless whether it's their watered down version of events or not. The Nazis still rounded up millions of people, took away their freedoms, stole property from them, and threw them into camps/ghettos. Whether they planned to murder them or not at that point its irrelevant. But these people seem to believe if they can prove the Nazis didn't have intent to murder the Jews, it's OKAY, which it isn't. Even in the most watered down form that denialist believe in, the Holocaust is still a crime against humanity.

@@blank9574 It's hard to convince a Classist to stop being a Classist, it's hard to convince a Racist to stop being a Racist. It's hard to convince someone who hates "The Jews" to stop hating them. Their view of the world are often built around the idea, so it would almost require completely dismantling their world view. It's a hard thing for someone to over come. I still believed in Individualism, it's required to be a Civic Nationalist. It's that concept which kept me from falling down the same kind of rabbit hole. I always found the greatest tragedy when reading about the Nazis, was a story told by a Jewish man, who was a boy during the 3rd Reich and Hitler. He told a story on how much he wanted to go outside and march with them. He was referring to the SA, during one of their night torch marches. For him, not being allowed to be a Nazi himself, because of something so utterly stupid. The entire movement was doomed to fail. Rejecting future Allies within their own community because of something as arbitrary as Ethnicity? Religion? It's madness. Imagine how many loyal Nazis they threw in the garbage because of their hate filled beliefs? How many enemies they created as a result... I'm no longer a Nationalist, let alone a Fascist. I'd say I'm still Civic to an extent, but I see no reason to have any allegiance to any particular flag. I got tired to of dealing with people who can not see people as 'individuals.' I want nothing to do with ideologies that paint people as groups, including Nationality.

Nah, I mean you still have people claiming the Reign of Terror during the French Revolution was necessary, and not actually a Reign or Terror. You can take a guess which red flag waving 'not Nazis but act like Nazis' try to make that argument. People still try to claim the other big H in Ukraine didn't happen, or as an "accident" and it's also older than the big big H.

They're all nationalist. It's just the idea of what kind of nation that is different. Would you call the Federation of Planets from Star Trek a Nation? They even have a military even though they do not call it such. Basically if you create a one world government your still a nation. A Federation of nations creates a New Nation. If your goal is international your goal in the long run is National just the Nation you want doesn't exist yet.
