Reminds me of my instructor from Composition 2. He said, I'm not here to teach, I'm here to help you teach yourself. Meanwhile he would sit back in the class and do relatively nothing.

The Channel "The Hoof GP" really shows how well off doing actual work can make someone. Guy has a good home, multiple vehicles, as able to hire people to work for him. Is very well off... for someone who trims hooves.

@ZESAUCEBOSS No, in my opinion they view it as job security before they have tenure. Basically more students that fail, the more students who have to repeat the class. I realized it was a scam when they set the goals so high that it's impossible almost to finish an essay without not meeting minimum grammar/spelling requirements. Less than 10 errors out of dozens of pages of writing, and errors include something as simple as saying " . And " as god for bid if you put AND after a period. Heck even TIK did this in this very video, or was that the other one he uploaded today? The reason for those strict rules wasn't to make you a better writer, it's because they didn't have enough students, so other english department teachers who didn't have classes to teach were instead acting as tutors and of course as a student you had to pay out of pocket to these tutors or ya guess what risk getting an F on each essay you turn in. Don't meet those minimum requirements = automatic F. Sad part was getting a tutor to go over your work for you wasn't even a guarantee, meaning even the professors acting as tutors were imperfect as they demanded of the students.

@aleksazunjic9672 Then you're proving the point. If you're expected to learn on your own, you shouldn't need to pay a bloody professor to tell you that, while pretending to educate you. That is the point TIKhistory is actually making. Today, with access to information on a scale never before seen in human history, the concept of a university is becoming irrelevant, definitely if the university is doing nothing but teaching you how to 'teach yourself.'
