I think it might have more to do with controlling narratives. I honestly don't think it was "Trolls." Youtube for about a month was heavily pushing pro-Russian channels into my face as a good example. I honestly think there are attempts to distance viewers from the Ukraine War, and cause negative decent to supporting Ukraine's War effort.

It isn't just youtube, even CCN posted an article yesterday saying Ukraine is losing the war. These media platforms go where the money is sadly.

Exactly.

@calmhorizons Which researchers? Researchers are always bias as well. You'd need a large commission with researchers from many spectrums check/double checking colleges. Otherwise you can end up with a research report that set a goalpost first which leads to bias results.

@calmhorizons I don't trust google searches. Ironically the first article I foundvin Duckduckgo by News Nation said in 2020 7.7% of the Democrat accounts followed were sanctioned on Twitter vs 35.6% of Republican. In that study Conservatives were censored and punished 3x as often by the platform. It then dismissed the finds because well it claimed Republicans spread more disinformation so of course got sanctioned more.

@calmhorizons Well the article I found by NewsNation said otherwise. Showed during 2020 Conservatives were 3x as likely to get sanctioned on the platform. Though dismisses the finds shortly after. Because it said they were more likely to spread quotation fingers "Misinformation" god that word is cringe. Always reminds me of the old man from the Chernobyl series. PS can not see my first reply, sorry. But I don't use Google.

@johncombo not bots you have to worry about in my opinion. Sometimes bots are not even bots. But paid personnel by some government to cause division. Russia is a good example. They spread anti American, Pro Iranian, Pro Palestinian, anti UN/NATO, Anti Israeli, Anti War, Pro War, Pro Nationalist, Anti Nationalist among many others that both left and right latch into. Whole point is to cause mass division.

@SonderDAzeX Twitter was filled with bots. The worst are the ones that used hacked accounts. They'd go undetected for a long time because the handler of the account would make it look very legit, and use said account for political and social manipulation. Those kind would operate for years undetected. Because they didn't act like a bot because they were baby sat.
