  1. It's tragic really. Even without codes there were many who let the cat out of the bag when it came to Hitler in particular's plans. Including Hitler's chief of and deputy chief of the Abwehr (Intelligence). Hans Oster and Wilhelm Canaris intentionally leaked information to the Czechs for example that Hitler was coming for them. Even planned to assassinate Hitler if Hitler invaded Czechoslovakia. The Munich agreement tragically doomed Europe to war. It was perhaps the last time Hitler could of been removed from power before actual war started. If I recall this was called the Oster conspiracy, even a few members of the SS and Hitler's guards were in on it, because they didn't want a war to start, basically if Hitler marched into Czechoslovakia they would of assassinated Hitler, using HItler's aggressive invasion of a none threatening neighbor as the perfect excuse. However after the Munich Agreement Hitler was painted through propaganda as a hero, who willingly negotiated peace, and didn't want war which was quite the opposite, and that actually threw the rug right out of Anti Nazi Opposition within Germany, including those deep in the regime's government who could touch Hitler.
