General Election Now!
37
"We failed to build enough houses" and which party was in charge the last 13 years?
30
I say the opposite. The SNP majority in Holyrood is despite Proportional Representation. Have you seen the SNP in Westminster? Under FPTP they have 90% of Scottish seats!
22
What happened to Truss promising she was on top of it and we wouldn't need rationing?
21
We don't want a selfish narcissist running the country, so let's vote for Boris instead š¤
15
Lots of nurses are switching careers for better money (or less stressful work) in the private sector. Soon we won't have enough to keep our hospitals going...
11
Shhh, don't tell Dolan, but the Bank of England had to spend almost £70 billion to make that bounce back of the pound happen We can't afford to do that trick again!
11
So we can't call a banker a banker any more? I am confused!
8
You used to be able to apply at embassies! It's madness that the government took that option away
8
The companies and the government could have settled months ago. Blame them for dragging it out!
8
Trump did say Europe should do more to protect itself. This is all his idea, really!
7
I bet the fishermen wish they had Mick Lynch looking after them instead of Farage!
6
Wonder what GBNews thinks about books by Karl Marx?
6
Ā @BD4-ManchesterIsRedĀ in the medium term the Tories will be out of government, and then we get long term stability?
6
57% of your energy bill goes to offshore accounts in tax havens
6
If there's no money for wages, where's the money for that kind of infrastructure investment going to come from?
5
Hugely popular MPs? Back this up in a general election then š
5
If you're short staffed, you need to offer better wages Thought the Tories knew how the free market works?
5
And for Transport Minister number 4 to stop hiding and admit he has to sign off on any deal, and get round the table!
5
Ā @markb3915Ā It can come from wherever the massive dividends and bonuses are coming from š
5
But the majority of NI support the protocol!
5
Ā @DOCTORDROTTĀ sure, lie about Mick's wages, and ignore the rail bosses on over half a million...
5
āĀ @imbonkers3629Ā but they were protesting on the pavement, and got arrested. It was a model peaceful protest!
4
ā@susan curtis waiting 47 years? Someone just getting their first job now, will be almost retired by then! If something can't show some benefits, people will demand better. You can't expect people to spend their whole working life waiting...
4
@susan curtisĀ you can thank Thatcher for the decline. The EU didn't make us sell our utilities to the highest bidder, that was all on her!
4
If Jacob wants people to pay for their own childcare, wages are going to need to go up A LOT
4
@jjeffery worboysĀ we need a future generation. What happens when the whole country is just old people because nobody could afford to have children?
4
@MinkieWinkleĀ doesn't change things much - private pensions are invested in the stock market - how are those stocks going to do in an economy short of workers? State or private, you need a good economy behind your pension
4
Also, not sure if this is political propaganda or filthy fanfiction...
4
There was one month where we sold the EU a huge amount of natural gas, and trade figures looked really good for a bit Outside of that spike, trade is way down š
4
Why aren't we asking if there's someone out there who could do the CEO job for 100k a year less than the current one?
4
Ā @markfox-potten4798Ā I think we should give it a try - give the CEO job to the most qualified person willing to do for 100k less than the current CEO. I reckon nobody will notice a difference, or maybe things might even run better! Fully agree on nurses š
4
Ā @vincentmckenna1755Ā are you talking about the nurses? 19% is just catching up after years of pay freezes. 19% would roughly match what they earned in 2010
4
Someone working for 18k isn't just paying their own tax, they'll be earning their boss lots of money too It's still contributing to the economy, even if you never see a penny of it
4
Everyone's skint, you can't get an appointment at the doctors, there's no police when you need them, but this is a great country, he says! Make your mind up...
4
Why don't more people talk about the Green party? They're not all about the environment, they have plans to help working class people It's almost like the mainstream media don't want people to know about them š¤
4
Hmm, do I want my taxes to go towards building up UK power generation capacity, or on tax subsidies for rich bankers? š¤ I'll take nationalised power, thanks!
3
Ā @susancurtis1651Ā I don't remember many people really caring before 2016. There was the odd snarky article in the papers about some EU regulations, but I don't remember it being anything more organised than that. Why was everything so quiet if it was such a concern?
3
@susan curtisĀ They went to the highest bidder. Not just EU countries - also China, India and the USA. The sellout wasn't fussy about who did the buying
3
@susan curtisĀ we're not going anywhere. We love our country too much to give up on our future!
3
@susan curtisĀ that sounds a bit over the top to me, I just can't see everyone in Europe going along with something like that!
3
Why? Mogg would love a Stasi of his own!
3
Everyone's rent and bills keep going up. We all need pay rises! We should learn from the rail workers, not moan about them š
3
Should we take a lecture on "affordable pay" from people who said Liz Truss is an economic genius?
3
Also, next time you vote, remember which political party has been the party of austerity for over a decade!
3
When will the referendum be?
3
@PemjĀ worse, the councils didn't get the money from the sales. Westminster kept the money
3
It's easy for Liz to say she's standing firm - it's not her money she's flushing down the toilet, it's ours
3
General Election Now!
3
Ā @daveyr7454Ā maybe you don't earn enough!
