There was one month where we sold the EU a huge amount of natural gas, and trade figures looked really good for a bit Outside of that spike, trade is way down đ

@Jamie ZÂ I am a bit confused, you like Norway, but not socialism, but Norway is pretty socialist

@David Summer please let me know if I've missed a third option, but I can only see two ways to harmonise regulations. One is to decide your shared regulations through a shared, democratic process (EU model), and the other is for the largest party to dictate the standard that smaller nations need to comply with (US model) Unless you can give me a third way to decide shared regulations and standards, I have a preference for the democratic, EU style

 @Jamie-Z do we even have a far left in the UK?

 @Jamie-Z is a bit of nationalisation and public investment far left? It's hardly Stalin or Pol Pot

 @Jamie-Z that's good, I support democracy too đ

@Jamie ZÂ I find it a bit weird choosing to exclude yourself from the decision making table. Norway accepts all single market rules, what do they can by not having a say when those rules are made?
1
@Jamie ZÂ you are really confusing me - you avoid dictatorship, by making sure you have no say in the rules you promise to follow?

@Ęuðɟinga ĆżeoÉźc my point is that there was a good month, but it was a one-off that isn't sustainable Our normal is way down đ

@David Summer Costa Rica has trade deals with it's neighnours, and the USA deal aligns commercial and trade laws very closely with the USA I am not sure that example is the one you want to pick

@David Summer They are not in the EU, but almost everyone is in some kind of multinational trade bloc that is aligning and sharing commerce and trade laws. The way to be outside the EU is to join your own, local EU-like bloc
