  2. ​ @Stepbystep74 doesn't this simplify wealth taxes though? If you're claiming you have assets worth a billion when using them as collateral for a loan, then that's a valuation of a billion for your wealth tax assessment Very kind of them to simplify the paperwork for us 🙂

  3. As long as capital gains taxes exist, can't we just let them self report? We get the money either way. Even if we let them claim that mansion is somehow only worth £1000, the capital gains on that is going to be substantial if it suddenly sells for 2 billion!
