The EU gets it's money from tax, in a very large and very productive economy. It's a beneficial cycle - the EU manages a successful economy, so people and businesses are successful and able to afford the tax

If you want a single market, someone has to decide the rules of that market If it isn't a democraticly elected body, then what do you propose instead?

@mogznwaz Canada does accept conditions from Washington in order to trade with the USA...

@kevon slims A trade deal, negotiated very much in favour of the USA. It demands more access for US business to Mexico and Canada than Mexico and Canada get in return

@mesolithicman164 so what institutions should we value? Probably not Oxford and Cambridge, after their politics and economics graduates crashed the economy If there are smart, capable people coming out of those institutions, they clearly aren't the ones going into government!
