@jasonsmith9556 Labour ain't perfect but they are better by far!
6
@rjkmusicmedia totally backwards. Tax profits, and businesses have more incentive to spend it on investment rather than dividends Taxes encourage investment. Tax breaks only help investment if specifically tied to investment in the business
6
@Robbo-u7q but wealth redistribution could fund education, and democratise job opportunities 🤔
6
They want to cut budgets for the NHS and education 😳
6
@evolassunglasses4673 The NHS. Norway's sovereign wealth fund. State owned energy in France Stalinist centrally planned communism fails every time. Socialism, especially in a mixed model, has many successes!
6
@jayarava even if he's "just" another Tony Blair or Gordon Brown, that is far better than the Cowboys in Blue!
6
@kimhaslam664 I know a few electricians. The only one who could afford a house had a lot of help from their parents. It's not the 80s any more
6
@twisteddancer7773 so those who climb the ladder enough to be heard "aren't allowed" to question things because it "doesn't affect them any more" Those who haven't are too small to be heard Convenient setup, isn't it? 🤔
6
@martynblackburn9632 Don't remember Gordon Brown leaving the NHS lethally short of cash, so bad that a shortage of ambulances is a daily problem...
6
Is "being skint" a political view now?
6
@Tao_Tology my point is, "whine and play is the victim" is her answer She's not going to do anything differently. She's going to stick with the current plan!
6
Agreed - there was a window when a very soft Brexit could have eased the tensions, and got most Remain voters to accept the result, at least for a parliament or two Instead, Leave shifted the goalposts to hard Brexit, maybe even no deal, and any hope of meeting in the middle went up in flames
6
Well, Blair and the One Nationers are pretty close There's still a clear divide between Blair and the eternal victims on the right of the Tory party
6
@Lmwpitt Brexit is a temporary insanity which we have to endure until.we can Rejoin. The only other long term plan is, like John said, to adapt to being poorer and somewhat cut off from the world I like the Rejoin plan best 🙂
6
If we send Derek to this secret beach, we never have to listen to Derek complain again!
6
@DavidByrden1 We just heard the manifesto - stand against everything the Tories are currently doing 😁
6
@chatham43 there's people who work for what they own, and people who want to own everything so they don't have to work. Which one are you?
6
I don't for a second believe they are perfect, but they will be better than what we have now, guaranteed
6
@raymondbullock4557 it's nowhere near that much. Our health care budget is way below average for a developed nation
6
The Boris Johnson Bill of rights, extending exclusively for the benefits of Boris Johnson?
6
They are too scared of James!
6
@ThomasKing19933 nope, we have enough problems without raking up the past all the time! We have a future to fight for
6
@stephenmurray2851 because she claims the opposite of documented fact
6
@matthewv4170 I won't believe they're done until they are no longer sitting as MPs
6
It would also help if they appeared in genuine critical interviews more often Too many politicians only do softball media appearances with stage managed interviewers
6
@sonofsomerset1695 why don't you like cheaper electricity?
6
@sonofsomerset1695 except fossil fuels aren't cheap. There's a reason Norway runs on renewables domestically, while selling the oil and gas to others who are willing to pay
6
@mogznwaz not sure one token plane flight at ludicrous expense is the same thing as "controlling borders"
6
Why does it have to be the streets? What about mass boycotts?
6
@m bontekoe I agree that wages need to increase - that will require some taxes to go up to fund it. There is a political choice where those rises land though
6
@jaggafeen by calling for an investigation rather than claiming you know what happened?
6
@famalam943 a suitcase of prosecco. During the strictest period of lockdown
6
Slightly left of Thatcher, maybe, but definitely no lefty!
6
@julian987r4 to be clear, I want Farage to be interviewed but Ferrari didn't do an interview, he had a cosy chat with his chum
6
But then there won't be any pictures of boats and hotels for their chums in the press to put on the front page!
6
But then the US military lose their airstrip in the Middle East...
6
Yes, but if Nick talks about those , Boris looks bad!
6
It's that old chestnut of "when you're used to privilege, equality feels like oppression"
6
It's not even an aspiration. It's pure smoke and mirrors. No intention to do anything except maybe shift some blame away from the Tories
6
If James didn't interrupt, Moses would have gish galloped for hours while saying nothing Moses would have been a legend at the old school filibuster, where dragging out the vote required actually standing and talking the whole time!
6
or imagine a CPTPP member buys a water company. They'd be able to claim compensation if we introduce fines for pumping poo into our rivers They effectively become unfineable...
6
@PoldarkGodzilla calmly, and professionally. By sticking to the relevant facts that illustrate what needs to change, rather than egos and "authority"
5
Country before party would be a general election!
5
@Efferpheasants But if they let NHS managers buy PPE from their usual suppliers, how could the Tories set up dodgy fast lane contracts to shovel money to their chums?
5
If you want more austerity and more cuts to public services
5
Most private healthcare doesn't cover emergency care. Double check your policy before you assume it's safe to give up on the NHS!
5
@peaceunion5316 "Why is this front page news?" Is the question James asked. They article being discussed was taking the angle that their existence was a threat to society as we (they?) know it To the best of my knowledge, at no point did it concern itself with the question of how best to help people dealing with traumatic events in their lives. That might have been an interesting discussion, but that's not what articles like that are aiming for, is it?
5
@peaceunion5316 Not much chance of that while one side is determined to use this as a tap dancing squirrel!
5
Not promising an immediate Rejoin is realistic. Maintaining the hardline Brexiteer rhetoric is a choice, and not a reassuring one
5
@boomer4629 maybe he does mean "UK rain", and he's trying to explain the hosepipe bans from the summer?
