@isabellewhite3505 It's a powerful thing, that petition. Truss is sticking her fingers in her ears and pretending she can't hear us, but it keeps growing anyway! I bet Tory backbenchers are seeing it, even if Truss refuses to!

The BBC board has been taken over by Tories. Could be awhile before it's a truly neutral institution again 🙁

@229andymon at the risk of being That Guy on the Soapbox, I believe that is down to us,and the journalism we choose to support. I'll be entirely honest,I can't remember everything that's gone on in politics, and I'm pretty engaged with it. Someone less engaged has no chance. This may sound a bit highbrow, but I can't think of a better phrasing - journalists are our collective memory. They remind us of what has happened before that is relevant to what is happening now If we only have journalists funded by the usual establishments, they get to choose what gets remembered when we need it. Is it any wonder that we have amnesia on certain topics given this setup?
