@Raymondo666 Set up facilities to do the checks in France. Then we have control over who gets in, and they can travel on safe ferries rather than unlicensed boats, cutting the criminals out of their business This actually secures our border and stops criminal gangs, and is much better value for money than the mad Tory plans!

@Raymondo666 I did vote remain for what it's worth, but I just can't see how that's relevant here. Setting up a better asylum process shouldn't be a partisan issue

@Raymondo666 we paid them to patrol a massive coastline. They did, but of course they missed lots of people, because it's massive! Setting up a centre works better, because the asylum seekers would choose it themselves. You don't need to patrol a massive coastline if nobody wants to be there Finally, don't see anything wrong with giving everyone a fair hearing. That's a principle we should protect for everyone!
