  4.  @JAMAICADOCK  It's hard to measure the EUs global influence. They don't do dramatic grandstanding or overt interventions, so they don't feature in dramatic news stories much. Their soft power is significant though, and with trade in particular they have a lot of weight - everyone who's tried to play hardball has regretted it, even the USA
