@martynblackburn9632 Don't remember Gordon Brown leaving the NHS lethally short of cash, so bad that a shortage of ambulances is a daily problem...

@Efferpheasants But if they let NHS managers buy PPE from their usual suppliers, how could the Tories set up dodgy fast lane contracts to shovel money to their chums?

@wakaisgood Strikes, petitions, protests and emails require engagement from both sides. If the Tories keep turning a deaf ear, people aren't going to keep trying something that's just being ignored Respect has to be given both ways if it is to be maintained

@CatfoxGO Don't joke like that, there are people here who will read that, nod and applaud 😳

@mydogeatspuke If journalists won't do their job, then we'll have to step in when we get the chance! For someone without professional experience I'd say she did better than most supposed veteran interviewers 🙂

@martynblackburn9632 The budget is very average. The Tories act like it's excessive, but in truth it's distinctly middling compared to other countries. There are countries with shorter waiting times etc, and they are the countries that have higher healthcare spend. You get what you pay for! (Except America, which is this horrifying anomaly that spends vastly more per head than anyone else, but gets underwhelming performance for all that money) Where there is a funding issue is how the money is spent in the UK. There is a lot of subcontracting to private companies, and we are overdue a proper review on whether those contracts are delivering value for money! There has also been some very short sighted corner cutting, in particular teaching and training capacity, which are now starting to bite in the form of staff shortages

@mydogeatspuke She gave a Tory reply all the attention it deserves

But they do make decisions! They look at their budget, and could choose "fund public services" but instead decide "set up dubious contracts so they can give it to their chums" 😡

@mydogeatspuke Maybe they should try it? That smirk at the end told us more about what the Government really thinks than hours of dry, staged managed interviews ever have!

Maybe it is appointed that we kick the Tories out, and the appointed time for people will be better than what people have now?

@goooaaattt-b4a We already have a corrupt leader incapable of leading the country. Worst case we break even and get more of the same - time for a change, nothing to lose!

@philmuggeson1849 Pick a statistic, and chances are Blair and Brown have the better record than Cameron/May/Johnson/Truss. Waiting times in hospitals lower, wages higher. Consistently better across so many measures!

@YA-hm5zy It's shocking really. They subcontract big chunks of it to private companies and it goes wrong, yet their solution to the problems that occurred when they subcontracted to private companies is more privatisation? Can you imagine pulling the same logic? "Yeah, I was late to work and didn't get everything finished, so I propose to fix it, tomorrow I won't come into work at all!"
1
@mydogeatspuke Steve Barclay isn't short of opportunities to talk to the media. If he has a response to give, he can do so any time he likes! Reckon we'll ever get one?
1
@mydogeatspuke also as she said, they've had 12 years. What makes you think today will be any different to those 12 years they've already had?
1
@mydogeatspuke Disagree? I wish he said anything with enough substance to disagree with! He didn't say anything
1
@mydogeatspuke In the five days you took to come up with that, Steve has also had five days to come up with a response and make a statement to the press... ... still no answer. He hasn't got one.

@mydogeatspuke nothing getting done sounds like an average day for the current party in government!
