  1. ​ @highburys  I hope we do train more here, but that's a slow fix. First we need to hire the staff to do the training, and the facilities too. Then the students get trained - it's best part of a decade before you see a difference In the meanwhile, immigration is the only way to cover vacancies we need filling today

  2. ​ @wamnicho market forces should also affect public sector pay, if we didn't previously have a hypocritically inconsistent government that says it trusts the market, except when the market says "put wages up" 🙄
