  6. @Mater Suspiriorum  Austerity was a political choice, and a bad one in two ways Firstly, you need to invest in productive activity when the economy is struggling. Otherwise you just maintain the weak performance forever Secondly, you need to target the fat left in society if you do go for austerity. Banking and finance benefited before the crash, caused the crash, could best afford to pay for the recovery from the crash, but got off scott free The Tory "solution" is why everything is so broken now!
