@cupguin that sounds terribly defeatist. Are you saying our only electoral choice is selecting who gets to implement the next cycle of austerity budgets?

@cupguin but if we vote Labour, then isn't that going to be interpreted as a confirmation they should keep doing what they are currently doing? It's especially galling when Boris proved levelling up and similar ideas are hugely popular with the public. Sure, we know he's a liar, so it was an empty promise Nonetheless, in 2019 both Labour and Tory we're campaigning on ending austerity. It's what people want. Why has Starmer backed away from that? If we are voting Labour, the least we need to do is indicate it is despite their changes since 2019, not because of them
