This is why we need to support candidates who aren't invested in the two party system. I just don't see any enthusiasm for change from the Labour executive

Wes Streeting is panicking - there's a real chance he'll lose his seat as a result of this campaign!

@michael-vl1mn by embedding corporate authoritarianism into their very structure, at least Reform are consistent between internal structure and manifesto!

We Deserve Better isn't targeting every seat, it's focusing effort on a very small number of seats It's very FPTP-aware

The campaign Owen Jones is backing is only targeting a handful of seats. Do you really think that will prevent a Labour majority?

@sandrafrancis3631 but we don't want everyone to switch from Labour - only people who live in the North East (who can vote for Jamie Driscoll as mayor), or Bristol (where Carla Denyer can win for the Greens with a little extra campaign support) This isn't about a protest vote everywhere - it's about focusing attention where it has a realistic chance to have an impact
1
@sandrafrancis3631 he didn't, and that's a terrible oversight on his part If you check out the campaign itself though (We Deserve Better) that's very much the plan - focus efforts where they genuinely have a chance to make an impact on UK politics

@vicibox I just can't see Starmer facing up to big challenges. His every action says he's trying to pretend it's 1997. He's cosplaying stable times rather than looking for contemporary solutions 🙁

If the campaign is tight and focused, I think it's the perfect time to try and get some Greens and independents elected There's only a small number being targeted, so this won't impact the majority of seats. Just a few where a difference is pragmatically possible
1
It's exactly the right time to focus on getting people outside the two party system elected, by focusing efforts where there's a suitable candidate with a realistic chance
1
That's what the campaign is doing - supporting Greens and independents who have a chance of winning, and focusing money and attebtion on them to boost their chances 🙂

@Tvjunkieful12 is there much of a centre any more? The status quo is failing a lot of people - people failed by the current system aren't going to vote for more of the same!
