Did the Greens come second where you live? If so,you have an alternative Did the Greens come third? Then at least you've got a long shot to try! A lot can happen in four years if people get active 🙂

@Jesus_H._Tap-DancingChrist I think even the Tories know he's bad, but he's the only one left who'll volunteer when it's really indefensible
8
@atomicoranges8462 like Don said, nope. The government has locked off sensible ideas like being able to apply at a UK embassy, because they are playing sick ugly games with the lives of desperate people
8
The Greens are the biggest party in the UK with policies to redistribute and make housing affordable. They're outsiders now, but support is starting to grow 🙂
8
So Jenrick says we should celebrate British culture and success Also Jenrick - uses Wallace and Grommit as an insult 🤔
8
Go ask anyone who lives in an (ex?) fishing community
8
@freepress3788 MPs, or PMs?
8
Yep. Happy to say I had him wrong when I first saw him!
8
@anglewoden our politicians in every party need to be honest - we need immigration Without immigration, at best we get to be Japan, where people under 40 are almost all overworked and overstressed. At worse we get to be the North Korea of Europe Are you happy to welcome Japanese overwork culture? Are you confident we won't end up as North Korea?
8
@JS-ny5du which rules aren't working?
7
@ProblematicBitch agreed. We are supposedly one of the richest countries in the world. Rather than asking "where will the money come from?" we should be asking "where is all the countries wealth disappearing to?"
7
Still concerning that there's no place in the Labour party for anyone left of Mandelson, but there is room for Elphicke, even if only short term!
7
Well that's easy - open a processing centre in France, and let valid asylum seekers travel on the ferry. Job done!
7
Sounds like a good idea! When are we getting that fair days pay?
7
but we weren't successful, we were just kicking the bills down the road and hoping tomorrow would never come Now tomorrow is here, and those bills are now due
7
A Green vote isn't a wasted vote - you won't get a Green MP, but you will send a message that Labour can't take the left for granted any more!
7
"With our resourcefulness, and our resilience, we will overcome this challenge", kick the Tories out, rebuild our relationship with our neighbours and Rejoin the EU 🙂
7
@sosimple3585 it's still tarring everyone for the actions of a few If a cis man does something horrible, is it right to declare all cis men are horrible?
7
I am sure Braverman and cronies have a plan to eliminate all the problems 😳
7
The enemy doesn't come on small boats, they arrive on private jets
7
@andyisabeast7782 guess they need to ask the real boss in the Whitehouse, before the UK governmnent says what the governmnent thinks 🙄
7
Watch the video and Oli will give you his thoughts...🙄
7
You can do a lot of rules-lawyer heavy lifting with the term "successors according to law" If we democratically and lawfully become a republic, the successors according to law are the people, via our democratically chosen representatives 🙂
7
So, when is the referedum on this massive constitutional change?
7
@HiveFleetOni it doesn't improve trust in politics if we have to hope Labour are lieing about their plans...
6
I really hope people stop calling Labour a left-wing party, so the left doesn't wrongly take the blame for the continued slow collapse 🙁
6
@DW-indeed but if Starmer was socialist, socialists would agree with him...
6
Like, just call them macho females and femme men and she'd be totally OK? (At least according to the views she'd say on camera!)
6
To turn the question around, what do we have to show for 12 years of Tory government?
6
@middleman9183 have you seen the current government?
6
@virtualal but gentrification isn't caused by immigrants, unless you're only talking about the ones who come by private jet
6
There isn't really a competitive market for power generation - competition would require redundant capacity, and who has the money to build power generators that might not get used? Better to have it publicly owned so at least there can be democratic accountability over how it is run
6
and all the people who retire. I want to open by saying they deserve their retirement - because in cold, economic terms retirees still occupy a house, but go from being a productive taxpayer, to a burden on the state You can't support pensioners without having people to take over those jobs as people retire!
6
Not only could we afford it in 2010, but Australia can afford it now If we don't pay NHS staff properly, more and more of them will move to Australia, where they will get paid properly
6
@danielwebb8402 I disagree - life expectancy is falling, opportunities for social mobility are a sliver of what they used to be. Society has started to slide backwards
6
It's starting to cut through, and the more we share it, the more powerful it gets. Go share 🙂
6
@danielwebb8402 we can learn and change. Have the last four decades worked for society? If we decide the answer is no, what can we do better? Civilisation doesn't just improve through better technology, it also changes through better ideas. Is neoliberal capitalism the best we can do, or was just one step in humanity's story, and it's time for the next step?
6
Sadly the Labour front bench struggle to be left of Cameron and Osborne 🙁
6
Not sure I can see much difference between capitalism and feudalism to be honest. One's a system where the powerful maintain their power generationally by inheriting parent to child, and feudalism is the same but with more private armies
6
The bosses shun the daylight, makes them hard to track down for quick interviews like this one 😉
6
@stujujitwingfut5192 they say every accusation is a confession. Is this true?
6
Well, they are an endangered minority, but that's because they are being rewarded fairly for their actions 😉
6
@TheSuperPsychoKiller people are people. Are any of these people impacting your life? If not, why do you care?
5
@Norfolkandchance886 if they leave, we will replace them with someone else who will do the job and pay the tax. I am sure there's no shortage of people who will still find the wage more than sufficient after tax is applied
5
@debeeriz you jest, but there is one a few blocks from Buckingham Palace. There are still a lot of horses there, after all!
5
@johnduddy2359 Only 40% of the country voted Tory. Something isn't working properly when less than half the vote gives you a massive majority...
5
@jonmould2946 if you want to reduce immigration, you have just one simple question to answer Which jobs do you want to leave unfilled as people retire?
5
That and most people are too skint for restaurants and shopping trips. Almost like wages are too low... 🤔
5
@perfchaos Truss was the Foreign Secretary who flew out there to oversee the negotiations. She had her name all over the announcements of the deals
5
@martynanstis1620 so "we made up some rules, and we didn't break those rules we made"?
