  1. Slavery is if you cannot quit and cannot move. This does definitly not exist any more. Beeing dependent on a job, is true for all. But nobody is kept in captivity.

  2. But don't forget, it's not just somebody buying, you also need somebody selling, it's local people who sold their assets. Unfortunatly this is hard to reverse.

  3. This is the default feeling in every luxury hotel, even downtown Paris or so. What you say is, the entire island feels like you are in a luxury Hotel and you have no other place to go ? Is that about it ?

  4. Don't forget, the business is wanted by the locals. It's just an industry like baking bread. But if the industry is getting too big and dominant, it starts annoying some people for have no place to see no industry any more.
