@M4xXxIkInG The claim here was the reverse. You cannot conclude from the network to the position. You can be 2km away from the border in germany, and have a czech network. In this situation saying "I'm in Czechia now" is obiously nonsense.

@heisnotlongbutthin That's correct, just not related to phone cables. The german solution is, to put it in the ground and make it invisible ;-) But yes, any change to anything is considered a threat. That's why there is this urban myth of making it undone /reverse it to an earlier state, to get it working again. With ignoring , all the environement has changed.

So you prefer, to not get on the train, when it is sold out ? Most people don't like this idea. Concluding from a one time experience to average ist statistical nonsense anyway. Have you seen one 100 year old person ? Is this a proof everybody turns 100 ?

@kirannnnnn what? Evaluation from pictures is kind of people without personal experience. And we see pictures from 50% of people just avoid starvin, dream of Bollywood movies, sit on train rooftops. Maybe india should do better Marketing. Even slumdog millionaire starts off in a slum. We are not sure if there is electricity in the slum.

In matters of "everybody should have access to it", the market has no solution to this. It's mandatary for the governement to care for it. The "Needs of all humans" meaning "every human needs the same" is the basic approach of Karl Marx. That's wrong, to begin with. It burns down to "how much food is required" - nobody has an answer.

But this is about, having 98% connected, vs. having 100% connected. That's the level germans are complaining about. THere is absolutly no relation to "you know one village". In 2020, 43% of Indians used the internet (ITU data).

More trains is what happened. If you double the number of trains, it's more likely ,the trouble on one train is effecting the next train and so on. There is less unused spare capacity, on tracks, on trains.

Sure. If you had no internet all at, and no mobile phone, you can claim "all the rest worked". You missed repairs in the 80ies, build bridges from bad concrete, as long as it was new, it appeared to working for the first 10-20 years, now we see, it's not good enough for 50 years, due to the bad quality you produced in the 80ies. @acceptablecasualty5319 Not really. It's the idea, railway can be profitable. While it's accepted, streets are not. Contrast from Business to infrastructure is, infrastructure supports/inspires/induces other businesse, it's a multiplicator. A public good like fresh air. Every business needs fresh air, why not charge it - same idea. But I understand the intention of privatization. This is becomming cost efficient. Nobody has intention to save money, if they tell you "you don't need to make profit". They waste money as hell, you just give them an arbitrary budget. It's the alternative to budgeting. USA has privatized universities, same thing in reverse. Now they run football teams to finance themselves. Weird world.

From your story, I'm not sure you are one of the guys denying solutions, cause you see a problem, or pushing solutions and solve problems if they are really there. Those both fight with each other, the first ones dominate in Germany cause they want security, and solve problems they can imagine, without them really existing. Adding security always makes a project to take longer, beeing later on the market, beeing less successfull.

Diesel was a little more glorified than appropriate, but it's not really bad. All the trucks burn it, so the few cars aren't really important. Since the price relation gasoline/Diesel has changed, it's not an unconditional yes any more. Beside the price, Diesel is still rather good for medium/long distances. My car dealer said, it's not good for pizza delivery. The permanent start/stop in short distance is not what the engine is made for.

As more complex a service gets, as more likely it will fail. This greatness people remember, is the time of less service. With 10% unemployed people, you could even find people carrrying your luggage in the station. Turn unemployment up, maybe they come back.

@heisnotlongbutthin Exactly. You cannot conclude from the network to the country you are in. Coverage and Profit always leave white spots. Maybe other countries don't intend to be profitable and see this is a public service.
