@andypham1636 It's the same as for Popes. They just name themselves as they like it.

@andypham1636 No that's not really a reason, in 500 languages in the world, there are no easy names. A rename from Joseph to Benedict is not really simpler to speak, and from Karol to Ioannis neither. If a country cannot pronounce Ioannis, they simply call him John.

@andypham1636 Depends on your first language, I guess. So far, were was no Innuit or philippino pope with strange names for Westeners.

Most of us are related. Just most people don't have notices about their anchestry up to medeval. One marriage and you link the anchestry of 1000 people or more together.
