The documentary spared out all the problems or "inconsistencies". Like the shown tracks make only a small part of the network (unlike in France) and most of the time, they have to share tracks with cargo and commuter trains. So what you see is more or less idealized, or a commercial.

@ricksantos1580 no just a few high speed relations to go 300 km/h. But most often regular lines, where it can go only around 180-220. So the network capacity is limited, when track are shared with regional and Cargo trains. But people can go from interlaken to Hamburg without any trransfer.

James Muecke Justice, as well as socialism, is based on the simple idea to treat everybody equal. That's the opposite of being individual or egoistic. The socialist doesn't violate anybody, in worst case, he does treat you as a child, in the idea to guard, protect and care for you, it's not very unlikely people like that. Also a court is not listening to you what you want, they evaluate if you obey the rules, made to regulate our social interaction.

James Muecke You mix up "western individualism" with "cowboy style" and "survival of the fittest". All of Europe is "socialist" in the eyes of America, and feeling good to do so. People feel good to go see a doctor without coming back with a 1000$ bill, or still get some money when getting unemployed. Sure, family values are great, so you admit the family is social and lives socialism, they help each other. What's so bad about enlarging the family to a few millions. Also Christianity is based on the idea of charity, what's the difference from charity to socialism ? You can opt out (and be not a good christian) that's all. It's a bit like you have the freedom not to give a tip in a restaurant, but you never use this freedom. So this "individualism" isn't worth a penny, cause everybody understands, it's a social value to support each other. By the way, if Europeans talk about socialism, they talk about china , or a gone era.
