  3. No, people finding hobbies, or even professions is important, necessary, and a good thing. They could also be a champion in chess or in growing tomatoes. But these gym rats is a larger group. It partially replaced the former trend of playing football, but you have the choice to consider it a team sport or something for singles.

  6. Yes sure, everybody is doing that in this age. Unless you are a genious kid playing piano with 10, where should your self-esteem come from ? You need to try to achieve something in what field ever. There is no psychological problem, that's the most normal thing at 16. In older days , or among animals, they made street fights to find out, who is the Alpha. Even wolfes do it.
