The common thing is: His knowledge is so special, you don't hire the specialist by human ressources department, you buy it as a service. The tax consultant is the most common one maybe. In a movie I heared the phrase "I'm too expensive to be hired by one company only, they need to share me".

@mykytaradko5776 This can be an advantage. Not knowing anything means you are free from any prejudice or phrases like "we always did it this way". That's the peak of creativity. That's what you usually try to achieve in brainstormings. And "inside people" often are stuck in habits, optimizing their career instead of the company etc. Sometimes the question of a 3 year old can be mind blowing.

@udbhav5079 sorry, you spread clichees. If you know only one type of consultant ,you have a Problem. Sounds like you describe George clooney in 'up in the air'. You can hire a consultant to insulate your house.
