  1. Maybe you also miss, how Germany changes meanwhile. Me, in Germany, go to the ATM also about once a Year. I run a little AirBnB and Take Credit Cards, many mobile salesperson on the open air markets take credit cards, people pay with their phones. Corona gave a final push to that, since cash is literally dirty and cannot be disinfected. My butcher had a sign "please pay the correct amount, round up, or pay by card." It's still that you cannot rely on card acceptance. But it works for 95% of point of sales.

  2.  @FelifromGermany  Have not been in US in the last few years, the only cash-free society is Sweden. Do you consider the US also cash-free ? And the reason in germany is simple, It's too expensive and Germans are stingy. They dealer doesn't want to pay 2% for the payment.
