  2. Feli says correctly , it's around 10-12%, and it's noticable in supermarkets. It's a critical mass to take a chance to open vegan-only restaurants, which are pretty new. It's not the result of activism, it's more part of the organic trend, a generall awareness for the environment. Never ever heard of your Raab lady. American veganism is more of religous or cultural heritage, like with immigrants from india or maybe mexico, where you have a dominance of vegan products. It's not as strong ecological idea based, like "save the climate".

  3. I think that's more a health trend, realizing daily meat is too much, just every other day is enough. The generation of truckdrivers having their sausage for breakfast is just gone. Especially less skilled workers who didn't care for their healt that much, have been replaced by immigrants. And if you have 10 million muslims in the country, pork consumption per capita goes down, it's as simple as that. It's the demographic change, more than the vegan trend.

  7.  @peterm.eggers520  What indications do you have for this nonsense. There wasn't any growth last year, but everything is fine. Unemployment doesn't go up. Elon musk wants to invest more. Stock exchange is on all time high. Missing workers, not enough skilled people, is the only actual problem.

  11. But if enough people ask in the restaurant, maybe restaurants change to not loose business. Maybe restaurants in general have more influence, cause more people dine out, less people cook ?

  14. Either you are in Germany, than you beeing vegan count into per capita consumption in Germany. Or you are not in Germany and your German friends wherever, do not count into percapita consumption in Germany. There are no inflationary or economical problems, if at all, it's just some of the last 2 years. That's temporary. The trend Feli has shown was for a 30 years period.

  15.  @gregalonzo747  ah, this way you can be abroad and have german friends. But people tell you if something gets more expensive and don't tell you, when prices drop or they get higher wages. If prices go up and wages go up, people can buy as much as before. Busdrivers are just in strike for 20% more. For electricity I pay less than 2019. So it's just a little shaking in the prices going on.

  21.  @Winona493  Well, but I realize, if we wouldn't use these animals, they simply would not exist. Beef, Chicken, maybe not pork would all be exitinguished. That's the other option. They have no natural habitat. It's a suffering on the level of zoo animals, or maybe even dogs. And after a happy life of deer, we can eat it just the same as a wolf would do.
