  3. Right, but this is scientificly exact. Cause you are not hot, you feel hot. Your body temperature does not change, otherwise it would be called fever. In case of fever you can really say "Ich bin warm". (the gay meaning is kind of outdated). Hot is not really horny, it's used in English the very same way "a hot girl" or so.

  6. ordinary has kind of same root, just it doesn't mean common/normal, it's more simple/lowest level. Nobody wants to be ordinary (simple minded), that's a bad thing, people want to be special. Vulgar is just an exaggeration but the same direction. Vulgär is used the same way as in English. And both is Latin.
