Actually, manual gear shift does not feel annoying or is considered work. The muscle memory and the autonomic nervous system are taking over after some time, it's like you don't think how to walk, what foot to put ahead first, you just do it without thinking. Changing gears is following this pattern. So people don't feel a burden taken away, they don't feel a comfort, they feel rather incapacitated, control is taken away from them, they loose independence.

@StandingUpForBetter Actually I wanted to know what attributes you consider as bad, is the stick too long ? Do the gears get into position only on very exact move? Is the move too long ? Do you not like the color ? I just have no idea what properties one could dislike - and if you can't say it, nobody can improve it. I know on old engines, especially trucks, you had to work with intermediate gas on the down shift, but these times are over I think. Engines got more tolerance, mostly by adding more gears and only using the more powerful range of the engine. You don't seem to be an engeneer, just an emotional driver who expresses emotions, not observations.

@StandingUpForBetter ok thanks. I also drive manuals since 30 years, Volkswagen, ford, Toyota and just never found cars with such behaviour. Sounds like stories from the 50ies to me. If this would be a common complain people would stop buying it and the producer goes bankrupt. I had some russian army truck, there you needed power to get in a gear. But this was built 1975 or so.

Never thought on that, I just went to UK with my left steired car and this worked quiet well, same as UK cars work in continental Europe. Just your drivers view is little obstructed if you are bumper to bumper.

You just put other words on the same thing. Whether you create e-fuels with electricity, or you create electricity with e-fuels inside a car, is not yet finally settled.

Are there inproper manuals ? And no, your brain allows you to do other things aside, otherwise Europe had less phone related accidents. It's one of the few things the brain goes on multitasking mode, like you are able to walk and talk at the same time.

@StandingUpForBetter So you are unable to put it in words. I should go and rent a Jaguar ? Little to much asked just to get an idea what you are talking about. Each car is little different, and you get used to it. It's not being an idiot, to watch the traffic light, to talk with passenger, to listen to the navigation system, or whatever. Cause our brain is free. It's not needed for the gear shift. As well as you don't need your brain to balance a bicycle or to stand upright. It's done by the muscles, not by the brain. It's called the autonmous nerve system.

He said it in the video, they use more gaz, and gaz is cheaper, it's heavier, but people don't care, it's more expensive but people are willing to spend it. Can also just be a matter of marketing, if dealers push the sales of automatic, people get used to it. Who in Europe has even the chance to have experience with automotic. I had it once a few days from a car rental.

If you measure efficiency in fuel per moved ton, you are right, if you measure effiency in fuel per moved human, you are not. A smaller car is always more efficient. Bigger engines give you more acceleration, not more speed in general.
