  1. If you wait for it. Yes ! But, if you get one, it is honest and they mean it. It's not just a phrase to create harmony between the two of you. So, if you don't get compliments, it means you are not special, nothing to mention. You don't get compliments for just behave as expected, or for your existence.

  2.  @valeria-militiamessalina5672  Why ? Do you want permanent talking and applauding people ? Maybe language is nonverbal, and I would change the stereotype to "Best compliment you can get, is the tourist coming again". It's just not an immediate reflection.

  3. You talk about the possible results. Actually you have to watch first, just to find out "does it fit". The inspection already takes 0.1 seconds longer, than for the Americans. And inspection can work in both ways. One can copy you, or contradict you, in a nonverbal way.

  4. Dealing with Nazi-time is kind of, Germans stopped talking about "we, the Germans", It's a rupture. Like you started a new era, new people afterwards. It resulted in absence of patriotism or identity today, but not guilt. Lets talk about the Nazis, like the french would talk about them. It's not our anchestors. Period.
