  2. What about your own health, you know your past, but not your future. It's like on any insurance, you do not know who is caught by the risk. If you have car insurance, you buy it for yourself, and if you have no accident, you still don't say the money was wasted. You got security. It's just a side effect, if you have no accident, the insurance can be more graceful to other insured people.

  3.  Craig 75  It's just too early to even think on regretting, the time with "issues" is just coming up for you in age 55-85. That is the expensive time. I hope your deal is, you cannot be "fired" by your insurance, you kind of build up you own savings, or you can say you pay for others, as you like it. Everbody is comming into times, when there is more paid for him, than he is paying in. So you are kind of solidaric withyourself. And as on any insurance, also for cars etc, you are happy if the insured risk doesn't occur at all. It's like taking a raincoat on vacation, and it's sunny all the time.

  4. It's hard to prove. We don't know if white people asked "what are you doing here" also take a video and post it on youtube. At least they never would call the same question racism. It could happen the same for people who are not well dressed, looking poor, having a whole in a shirt and a ring in the nose, let's say a punk.

  5. It's not "for free" it's just the idea, who has more income pays more insurance, as with taxes. whether you call it insurance or tax doesn't matter.

  7. The connection is, the government would tell them to have an insurance. They loose the freedom of being without insurance. Nobody knows why one should want this, but technically the statement is correct.

  10. Very eloquent but still very American ... and too detailed. Taxes already have the immanent idea of paying more, if you you have more income. That's all you need. It's the same that is applied to let's say "sidewalks", everybody pays taxes as much as they can, and the sidewalk is free to use for everybody, also for people who don't pay any taxes. So why the financing of sidewalks should differ from financing a doctor ? The idea of "excellent" health insurance is wrong, there is no need for good and bad ones. Maybe the "excellent ones" can pay Netflix in the patients room, while in "regular" rooms you only get PBS. The differences should not be on medical issues.

  14. The free healthcare does not depend on a job. You can have no job and get it. Just if you have a job, you have to contribute a little.

  19.  @respawncrew1209  You seem to have a certain understanding of a private insurance. Also a private insurance can be controlled with laws and regulations. I have no idea how you involve pharmacy producers in this game. Yes, they can charge what they want, if they have a monopol in some product. That has nothing to do with how it is paid. It's rather the opposite, a huge insurance can make special deals for discounts, so they pay less, than the single private consume. Every insurance corporation is trying to not pay, that's part of the business; not depending on the subject, also for car insurance, life insurance, whatever and also for public insurances. The client is always suspicious for fraud. And a counterwise missconception of the contract is always possible.

  20.  @respawncrew1209  So democracy is short to fail ? But this lobbyism exists in many countries, it's not really an US problem. With enough money for campaigning you can even become president, that's kind of unique to the US. The intensity of campaigns is unique. And I'm wondered why they still live in fear of russia and consider them as an enemy. It's more or less just old habits.

  21. The "better" thing is, you still get the treatment, if you get homeless, unemployed, or whatever. You pay little more for the "bad times" in your life, or in other peoples life. It's unstoppable. "Little costs" like $10 per medicine, or $200 for glasses are nothing causing bankrupcy. It's the situation of having no insurance and getting a heart attack, that causes bankrupcy.

  22.  @fatherson5907  No, but if you want to give people an update, you can use less aggressive words for it. I read it here in the comments, 60% of all private bankruptcies are based on medical bills. Recently on Greys Anatomy, Meredith got in jail for playing tricks for people without insurance. Sure, it's a show, but that far from reality ? Actually I don't trust you, if you say everybody has full coverage.

  23.  @fatherson5907  Yes, yes, it's a new fashion to create just the reality you want, just by saying it is so. Actually you are the only one stating it's taken care of everybody, it's very unlikely you are right. This is a comment section and I can comment what I want - how do you say ? "It's a free country", and we have "freedom of speech", and you are so proud of that. So obey your own constitution and don't tell people to shut up. That would be inconsistent. I know learning from others is a big deal, if the self-esteeming is saying you are the best, and everywhere else, it's worse than in the states. Would be a game changer, to import ideas.

  24. If it takes a risk of a $100.000 surgery in case of heart attack from you, of course. And as older you get, you see the doctor monthly, or you have your eyes checked, get flu vaccine, a massage therapie, see the dentist, get some replacements ... so many things to cover. In a social system it's actually something like 10% of your income. So you never have to pay more then you have. Never. never. Never. Forever.
